According to reports a body has been recovered from Lake Piru during the search for Naya Rivera!
Last week Naya went missing after she rented a boat with her four year old son! When she didn't come back at the time the boat was due, they went looking for it. They found Naya's son Josey sleeping on the boat with his life vest on.
Authorities said that Josey said his Mommy went into the water and didn't come back!
Since then they've been searching for her in the lake and in the cabins around the area!
Well they just announced that a body has been recovered.
“A body has been found at Lake Piru this morning,” the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department tweeted on Monday, July 13. “The recovery is in progress.”
The department said a news conference will be held at 2 p.m. PT to announce further information.
After a day of searching the Sheriff's department changed the search from rescue to recovery. I'm sure this news is devastating for her family but also might give them some closure.
Of course they have not yet confirmed if the body that was recovered is Naya. We'll have to wait and see what they say at the press conference later today
