What To Do Around L.A. This Weekend

As lockdown orders in L.A. begin to loosen up, new places are beginning to reopen or restructure.

Please make sure you follow guidelines when you are out and wear your face mask.

Things to do:

  1. Descanso Gardens
  • The Gardens is set to reopen Saturday. You must purchase a timed ticket before going. Visitors must wear masks, practice social distancing, and bring their own water bottle. descansogardens.org
  1. Lift Rides On M. Baldy
  • Good news! Hikers, runners, and cyclists can get on the trails starting Saturday. The forset will reopen popular routes, parking lots, and picnic areas from Mt. Wilson in Pasadena to Mt. Baldy in Claremont. Social distancing is required! Mt. Baldy ski area will operate scenic lift rides from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets cost $30 round-trip, $20 one way.  More details here.
  1. Drive-Thru at the Grove
  • This is cool! For the first time, the Grove will allow cars to cruise through as part of a drive-thru charity event. Drive-thru service is available from 12-8 p.m., guests can maneuver through The Grove Street. You also have the opportunity to visit the Miramar To-Go food truck. For every meal the food truck sells, the Grove will donate a meal to nonprofit supporting families on Skid Row. More details here.
  1. Griffth Park Hiking Trails
  • Hiking trails opened last week, but now you can set up a picnic, sit on the grass, or play some golf. Not everything is open at the park, the L.A. Zoo, Travel Town, Autry Museum, the pony rides/playground are still closed. Learn more about the park here.
