Selena Gomez Implies That One Of Her Ex's Was Emotionally Abusive!!

Selena Gomez has a new album and people are discussing the lyrics and during an interview with NPR they talked about the lyrics from "Lose You To Love Me." We all kind of assumed that the song was about her ex Justin Bieber. Their relationship had so many ups and downs, break ups and make ups. Selena talked about the inspiration for the song

"It has a different meaning to me now from when I wrote it. I felt I didn't get a respectful closure, and I had accepted that, but I know I needed some way to just say a few things that I wish I had said," she explained of the track. "It's not a hateful song; it's a song that is saying—I had something beautiful and I would never deny that it wasn't that. It was very difficult and I'm happy it's over. And I felt like this was a great way to just say, you know, it's done, and I understand that, and I respect that, and now here I am stepping into a whole other chapter."

The interviewer asked if the song was about Justin and Selena found a way to sort of not answer the direct question. She said "You had to get the name in, I get it,"

Then later in the interview she admitted she "was a victim to certain abuse." Asked if it was emotional abuse, she confirmed it was.

"Yes, and I think that it's something that—I had to find a way to understand it as an adult. And I had to understand the choices I was making,"

"As much as I definitely don't want to spend the rest of my life talking about this, I am really proud that I can say I feel the strongest I've ever felt and I've found a way to just walk through it with as much grace as possible."

Now remember, Selena didn't confirm that the song or emotional abuse is regarding Justin. We also know she was in a relationship with The Weeknd, but to me personally it makes more sense to be about Justin since they were together for so long and it took a lot for them to be officially done.

I think it's important to be able to identify the way people treat us, especially someone that you love. I didn't realize I was with someone that constantly put me down until I stepped away. Had I stayed in the relationship, who knows how far it could have gone. Thankfully Selena is in a much better space and so is Justin. I don't think this makes Justin a bad person, but I think some people aren't meant to be together.
