First posted on Reddit, the polarizing audio clip spread to Twitter. Soon everyone from your friends on your timeline to celebs like Ellen DeGeneres to Christine Teigen were talking about it.
It was like an audio version of "The Dress," the photo that went viral in 2015 when no one could agree whether the garment it showed was white and gold or blue and black.
Some of the people who listen to the audio file hear Yanny while others hear Laurel.
