9 Artists That Surprised Us On Coachella Day 1

One thing Coachella is known for every year - the surprise guests! In the past, everyone from Rihanna to Tupac have shown up on stage to support their artist friends. Coachella 2018 is no different.

On day one of the festival in Indio, CA we saw more guests than we could keep track of. Here's the full breakdown of who appeared unexpectedly!

It was a busy night for TDE ringleader Kendrick Lamar. The rapper made not one but two surprise appearances on day one of the festival.

He first popped up on the main stage to support fellow Compton-bred rapper Vince Staples. The two performed "Yeah Right" from Staples' Big Fish Theory album.

Kendrick took over the main stage again later in the night to show love to the queen of TDE, SZA. The duo performed two songs together - "Doves in the Wind" from SZA's debut album CTRL and "All The Stars" from the Black Panther soundtrack.

Chance The Rapper

If you follow Chance the Rapper on social media you know that he's been celebrating his birthday for the last few days as he prepped for the ultimate party in desert. He dubbed his birthday weekend at Coachella "Brochella."

It didn't take long for the rapper to appear onstage. He surprised the crowd on the main stage during SuperDuperKyle's set. Since Lil Yachty couldn't make it to the festival to perform his "iSpy" verse, Chance filled in to perform his part on the hit track.

Jamie Foxx

Probably one of the most unexpected surprise guests of the night was actor and musician Jamie Foxx. He came on stage during EDM juggernaut Kygo's set to perform a remix of Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing." Foxx didn't come alone either. He brought his daughter Corrine who he encouraged to put more clothes on after pointing out to the crowd that her pants were see-through. Dad's can be so embarrassing even when they perform for thousands of people at Coachella.

Trippie Redd

There was no shortage of surprises during SZA's set. Midway through she brought out one of hip-hop's most talked about rappers, Trippie Redd. They two gave an energetic performance of Trippie Redd's track "Dark Night Gummo."

Rich The Kidd

You can't help but get hyped when Rich The Kid's "Plug Walk Comes" on. The crowd that caught Belly's set on night 1 were lucky enough to see him jump on stage and perform it live.

Snoop Dogg

Is it even a proper music festival without Snoop Dogg. Nope! The legendary rapper made a late-night appearance during British funk act Jamiroquai. Not quite what we would expect from Uncle Snoop but it was a welcomed surprise.

Isaiah Rashad

It was a TDE family affair during SZA's set. The songstress brought out Isaiah Rashad to perform "Pretty Little Birds" for the first time every live.

NAV

Before fellow XO labelmate The Weeknd headlined night 1, his label mates Belly and NAV teamed up to perform their collab "Maintain." It was nothing short of hyped in the Gobi tent when the two performed.

Walmart Yodeling Kid

The rumors were true! In the days leading up to Coachella there was one question on everyone's mind - Will the Walmart yodeling kid make an appearance at the festival? A couple of hours into the weekend's festivities everyone's skepticism was put to rest. Little Mason Ramsey appeared on stage during Whethan's set in the Sahara tent. He was greeted by roars from the crowd as he broke out his infamous yodeling.
