UPDATE: According to TMZ, the aviation officer who dragged the man off the flight has been placed on leave pending an investigation.
"The incident on United flight 3411 was not in accordance with our standard operating procedure and the actions of the aviation security officer are obviously not condoned by the Department," The Chicago Department of Aviation said Monday.

Videos surfaced Sunday (April 10) of a United Airlines passenger that was forcibly dragged off the plane, all due to over-booking.
The man was just trying to get home, according to the footage.
"United Airlines overbooked the flight," passenger Audra D. Bridges said in a Facebook post Sunday. "They randomly selected people to kick off so their standby crew could have a seat. This man is a doctor and has to be at the hospital in the morning. He did not want to get off. We are all shaky and so disgusted."
Passengers were reportedly told before boarding that the flight had been overbooked and were offered flight vouchers and overnight stays in exchange for their seats. When no one volunteered, a computer randomly picked which passengers they would boot off the plane.
The doctor in the videos had been selected.
